Callanish. A Five Day, One Hundred Mile Walk by Hamish Fulton
|
Presented by the Contemporary Art Society in 1992.
An early example of Hamish Fulton's walk-based artworks, a photograph of the ancient stone circle at Callanish, created in the Neolithic era (pre-dating Stonehenge) and used for ritual activities during the Bronze Age. The dramatic image marks the culmination of a one hundred mile walk he undertook on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
