This crayon drawing and message was done in 1982 for his friend Dr Cyril Barrett, a Jesuit priest, philosophy lecturer at the University of Warwick, friend of many artists and one of the advocates and purchasers of works for the collection. Renowned for his hospitality and generosity, he donated this and several other works to the collection.
It is inscribed with the following: 'If you're Irish come in to the parlour The Blarney Man St Johns Wood via Dublin, Cork - a' the best.'
