Born 1960.

Jon Isherwood studied at Leeds College of Art, Canterbury College of Art and at Syracuse University, where he graduated in 1987. He worked as a sculpture technician for Anthony Caro from 1988 - 93 as a participating artist at Caro's Triangle Artists' Workshop in New York.

He turned to working in stone in the 1990s and creates forms that have the sense of being compressed or squeezed, the distortions made more evident by the carving across the surface of the stone.
