Malala Andrialavidrazana
Born 1971, Madagascar
Malala Andrialavidrazana observes cities, their inhabitants, their ways of life, and the interiors behind the scenes in order to overturn clichés. Her photomontages use signs and symbols of the past—precolonial maps, bank notes, album covers, and stamps—to offer multiple readings to see the world new and again, opening the possibility of alternative forms of storytelling and history-making.
