Dodd, Mike
Born: Surrey, 1943. Nationality: British.
Dodd went to Bryanston School where, like Richard Batterham, he was inspired by the pottery tutor, Donald Potter. He completed a medical degree at Cambridge University and then spent a year at Hammersmith College of Art in 1966. In 1967 he started his fist pottery at Edburton in Sussex. He has since moved to Battle, Hayle and Carlisle, and now has a pottery at Boltongate, near Wigton. He has written: 'The dignity, conviction and freshness of form, being the very essence of pottery for me, is my main concern..'
