Miriam de Burca was born in Munich, Germany in 1972. She moved with her German Mother and Irish Father to Ireland when she was three years old and continues to live and work there. She studied Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art and completed a practice based PhD in Fine Art at the University of Ulster. Her work includes film, video, drawing and installation. She has exhibited internationally and her work is held in public collections including the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the University of Limerick. She is currently lecturer in painting and drawing at Burren College of Art, County Clare, Ireland.
