This work is from a series of photographs taken in unnamed universities in the USA and Canada. They depict examples of 'New Brutalist' architecture and convey an uneasy tension between optimism and aftermath. 'Classroom #2' shows a deserted lecture room where an ambiguous arrangement of furniture seems at odds with its purpose.

'Classroom #2' was included in the Mead Gallery exhibition 'Campus' in 2005, a collaboration between the Mead and the John Hansard Gallery, financially supported by Arts Council England.
