Padraig Macmiadhachain

Padraig Macmiadhachain was born in Ireland and studied at Belfast College of Art (1947-1949) and the National College of Art, Dublin (1950). In 1957 he was awarded a British Council travelling scholarship to Moscow and three years later received a further scholarship from the Russian Government which he spent in Poland. For many years after this he continued to travel widely throughout the world to paint and to exhibit work reflecting the colours and character of the chosen locations - in North, South and Central America, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, as well as places in Eastern and Western Europe.
He was a regular exhibitor in national and international galleries for more than fifty years and his work can be found in many public, corporate and private collections.
