Golder-Thompson Gift, dedicated to Rebecca Hicks and Nicola Shane.

This work was inspired by a glass plate negative, one of a large collection, bequeathed to Tessa by her Great Uncle Godfrey. She received the bequest in 1971 but put it to one side thinking it would be a good project for her retirement. In 2013 concluding that a photographer never retires, she decided it was either now or never and turned her attention to the collection. Many of the chemicals on the plates were beginning to breakdown and she was fascinated by the resulting effects, which with careful lighting she has accentuated and captured within her prints.
