Rawlinson produced this image for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 1935. The RNLI is a charitable institution that saves lives at sea. The boats are manned primarily by volunteers and it has been saving lives since 1824. The design was reproduced for their annual Christmas card, which was sold to the public, to raise money for the charity.
