University of Warwick Art Collection Shortlisted for CAS Award

We are pleased to announce that the collection has been nominated as part of the Contemporary Art Society's annual award. The winner willl receive £60,000 to commission an artist to make a new contemporary work for their collection, generously supported by the Sfumato Foundation.

We are proposing to commission artist Katie Paterson. Katie Paterson’s artistic process is cross-medium, multi-disciplinary and conceptually driven, with an emphasis on nature, ecology, geology and cosmology.

The winner of the award will be announced on Monday 14th November.

Installation

On Wednesday morning the neon piece by Glenn Ligon will be installed in the Arts Centre. We will have to wait for the grand switch on as the electrics have yet to be put in place but this will follow very shortly and will be announced here. It is hoped the work will be a very welcome addition to the building.

New Mark Titchner work

A fantastic new work by Mark Titchner is now on display on the entry wall to the Butterworth Hall, in the Arts Centre. More information about the work, with images, will be added to the site shortly.
