With Eco Schools and Keep Britain Tidy

Climate change poses significant health and development risks to us all especially young children due to increased heat, air pollution, and extreme weather events, which can lead to chronic illnesses and stress. Addressing this requires both protecting children and fostering a lifelong connection to nature to build environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility from an early age. The staff and children in our setting play a vital role by incorporating a climate action plan and promoting environmental stewardship through the Green Flag Award.

Each year, the staff, children and parents help to work on a variety of projects for our Green Flag Application. We have been successful in receiving this award every year since 2021.

In previous years we have been involved in ….

  • Planting 90 trees and shrubs on campus
  • Litter picking
  • Donations to the Canley Food Bank
  • Creating sensory gardens
  • Learning about recycling
  • Replacing single use plastic PPE aprons, with PVC wipeable ones
  • Changing our plastic milk bottles to glass bottles
  • Making bird feeders
  • Making seed bombs
  • Becoming water warriors
  • Growing vegetables and herbs
