DLC Coffee Roulette
Register now to meet colleagues from across the Digital Learning Community
Looking to connect with colleagues across the University to broaden your network or exchange ideas? Coffee Roulette is an easy way to spark new conversations. If you are not part of the Digital Learning Community (DLC) yet, no problem! Sign up and we'll add you to our Teams channel, or join here.
How does it work?
Whether you're working at home or on campus, you can join in Coffee Roulette. Once you register, you'll be randomly matched with another member of the DLC, from across the University.
All you need to do is complete a form to register your interest, and we'll send you an email to confirm your match. Then it's up to you to arrange a meeting - either on Microsoft Teams or you can pick a location on Campus to meet face‑to‑face, at a time and date that's suitable for you both.
The last date to sign up for this round is Friday 24 April 2026.
The benefits
With hybrid working, keeping up the levels of networking to pre-Covid times can be challenging. Coffee Roulette is a way to connect and collaborate with colleagues that you wouldn't normally work with in your role. It’s a great opportunity to:
- Share what you’re working on
- Compare approaches or challenges
- Pick up new ideas and perspectives
- Build connections outside your immediate team
No prep required, just bring your curiosity and your beverage of choice. It’s a simple, low‑pressure way to stay connected and learn from others across the community.
If you've already signed up to Coffee Roulette, there is no need to sign up again; your name will be entered automatically.
Worried about starting the conversation off?
Here are some ice breakers...
- What do you like to do in your spare time? How do you recharge?
- How would you describe your perfect day?
- What would you change on your first day, if you ruled the world?
- What would you do if you weren't in your current job
- What does a typical day look like for you? What do you like most about your job? What's the most challenging part of your job?
- What superpower would you like to have?
- If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what meal would you pick?
- What book or movie have you enjoyed recently and why?
- What’s one thing you wish you’d known when you started your career?
