Lecture Capture Requests for 2026/27: Information and Guidance

πŸ“† Submitting Your Lecture Capture Requests

As we prepare for the 2026/27 academic year, we recommend that any teaching sessions requiring lecture capture are scheduled as early as possible. Demand for lecture capture is particularly high at the start of term and submitting requests in advance helps minimise delays and ensure recordings are available when needed.

Lecture capture is available in more than 280 teaching spaces across campus using Echo360 technology. Recording capabilities may vary depending on a number of factors, including presenter consent, room configuration and timetabling information. Whether you need to record a single session, a series of lectures, or multiple events, our service can support your requirements.

To ensure your requests are processed efficiently, please refer to the Schedule a Lecture Capture guidance, which explains how to submit requests and track the status of scheduled recordings.

⏱ Processing Workflow

Please note the following when submitting requests:

  • Priority: Requests for sessions taking place soonest are processed first.
  • Demand: During peak periods, particularly at the start of term, some requests may not be processed until shortly before the scheduled session date.

βœ” Checking That a Session Has Been Scheduled

To confirm that your recording has been successfully scheduled:

  • Navigate to the Lecture Capture block within your matching Moodle module, or
  • Access your EchoVideo library (accessed via the same route).

πŸ“Œ Room Bookings and Data Accuracy

Accurate room booking information is essential for successful module-based recordings.

To help avoid scheduling issues:

  • Review your teaching room allocations.
  • Notify the Room Bookings Team of any changes as soon as possible.

πŸ“½ Audio Visual (AV) Support

For an overview of the automated lecture capture service, please watch the lecture capture guidance video provided by the Audio Visual team.

If you need support with teaching room equipment or encounter technical issues during teaching sessions, please contact the AV Team.

For additional guidance on lecture capture scheduling, please consult our guidance or raise a request through ServiceNow.

πŸ“‘ Student Guidance

Our EchoVideo student guides are also available and can be shared with your cohorts at the start of term.

The guides cover how to access lecture recordings and how best to use to use lecture capture effectively as a study tool.
