Training

extended classroom students working

The Academic Technology team provide both synchronous (live) training sessions and self-study courses which can be studied at your own pace. Our current offering covers the most commonly-used academic technologies at Warwick: Moodle, H5P, Vevox and Mahara.

Self-study courses

We recommend that users new to a tool begin with its respective self-paced training course. The following courses are available in Moodle. Once you click a link you will be automatically enrolled in the course.

Live training

If you would like to arrange bespoke group training for your department on Moodle, Padlet, Vevox, using Echo, Mahara or any of the technologies we support, please contact us at academictech@warwick.ac.uk

See the training calendar here for any current training workshops or consider booking a one-to-one support session - see below.

Book a one-to-one Moodle support session

The Digital Learning Environment (DLE) team is now offering a series of bookable one-to-one Moodle Support Sessions. These are intended to be short appointments to discuss users' needs and requirements so that we can advise on appropriate tools in Moodle for the activity they want to create. These sessions are not for reporting errors or issues which should still be submitted via the Help Desk. Appointments are available in the first instance between 11am and 1pm on Tuesdays, 1pm and 3pm on Thursdays and 10am and 12pm on Fridays.

Digital Capabilities Discovery tool

The JISC Digital Capabilities Discovery Tool is an online activity for staff and students that is designed to help the individual reflect on their digital capabilities. It produces a personalised profile that identifies current strengths and areas for development and provides links to further support, training and resources based on your profile.

The 'overall digital capabilities survey' takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. Go to the webpage, log in and select Explore your overall digital capabilities to get started (read the guide for help logging in)

  • Responses and reports are confidential to the individual unless they choose to share them.
  • Organisational administrators will only see aggregated, anonymised data

This tool is available now for all staff and students, follow the link below:

Take the overall digital capabilities survey

Please note any students completing the 'Overall digital capabilities' survey will be able to
count this towards the Student Opportunity Warwick Skills Award initiative.
