Future Developments

But what about the future of the digital screens? Here's what we're trying to achieve now and in the future (subject to change).

Near

  • CCSG screen updating
  • Implement audience targeting for all screens.
    • Adding more content areas such as research-related items e.g. for advertising shared facilities, research seminars.
  • Updating the Big Screen design to match new branding
  • Updating OneLan to v23.1.0, which includes a new UI.
  • Creation of a library of widgets that channels can pick between depending what suits those audiences
    • Such as weather widgets, news updates, study space availability

Far

  • Consolidate screen content into a universal playlist that can target content based on location and audience to reduce duplication of scheduling.
  • Convert the majority of assets to HTML feeds that can be created from web content automatically
  • Ad Hoc Streaming to the big screen and social channels for Event Takeovers.
  • Advert space for additional revenue
