SALARY PROGRESSION

Our competitive salaries are offered on a grading structure which provides excellent incremental progression for grades 1A – 8.

ANNUAL LEAVE

Our generous annual leave entitlement includes four customary shut down days over Christmas, and eight statutory bank holidays. In addition you will receive:

- Grades 1A–5 - 26 days of paid annual leave

- Grades 6–9 – 30 days of paid annual leave

Depending on your working hours you will also have the option to buy up to ten days of additional annual leave.

STAFF RECOGNITION

Long Service Awards

To recognise staff contribution and loyalty we currently present Long Service Awards to celebrate colleagues achieving 10, 20, 30 and 40 years of service.

For 10 years service, you will receive a letter of thanks from the Vice-Chancellor and a congratulatory award, this will be emailed to your department (administrator) for distribution and so they have knowledge of this great achievement. This correspondence is normally sent at the beginning of the month after the month of anniversary.

For 20, 30, 40 years service, we administer an annual Long Service Awards Ceremony.

A dedicated ceremony usually takes place mid Autumn and for this year we will be celebrating long service colleagues from 1st August 2021 to 31st July 2022.

Cohorts will be contacted in advance of this point with their invitations directly from our events team.

Staff Awards

We hold an annual awards evening to celebrate the significant role our staff make in supporting the success of the University. Each year there are categories that individuals or teams can be nominated for to win an award. Keep an eye out on Insite for further information.

Merit Pay and Senior Performance and Remuneration Review - Suspended for 2022/23

Our two discretionary reward schemes (Merit Pay and Senior Salary and Remuneration Review) aim to identify, recognise and reward sustained excellence of performance and contribution.
