WEMWBS translations

The 14-item scale and the 7-item scale WEMWBS have been translated into a number of languages and some of these have been validated both psychometrically and qualitatively.

An important part of the translation process is to obtain two translations and two back translations from separate bilingual individuals who have not seen the original scale. A template Link opens in a new windowfor comments on back translations is available for use.

Questions regarding difficulties encountered in translating the WEMWBS into other languages led us to prepare some notes addressing frequent issues in translation, Link opens in a new windowwhich you may find helpful.

The translations are available once you have registered to use WEMWBS, once registered you can view the translations and validation papers where available.

Existing translations

Only Registered/licenced users are able to view translations. Should you know of an existing translation which is not available from our resources page please contact us to get it approved and uploaded. This list is subject to change, in order to see the latest list of available translations please ensure you register for the appropriate licence, requesting an email receipt as the receipt will contain a link to the resources area of our website.
