Upload multiple files at once

There are two ways to upload files in bulk to SiteBuilder:

Upload multiple files

  1. Browse to the page where you want to upload the files.
  2. Go to Edit > More, then select the Files tab. This tab lists all files uploaded to the current page (if any).
  3. Select Upload:

    Files tab

  4. On the Upload a file screen, select Browse/Choose Files:

Attach a file from your computer

  5. Browse to the files you want to upload from your computer and use Ctrl/Cmd+select to choose multiple files.
  6. Select Upload.
  7. On the Uploading multiple files screen, confirm which files you wish to upload by selecting the checkbox alongside each file. If a file with the same name exists on this page in SiteBuilder, selecting the checkbox overwrites the previous file with the version you are uploading.

  8. Optionally, specify a Short title for the files. The short title appears in the contents list page template. You can use this property to help make a list of files such as course notes more readable. For example, a short title of Urban Space AR101 reading list is simpler than the file name ar101-reading.docx. The Short title defaults to the file name and you can edit it later in file properties.

  9. Select Upload selected. You should now see your files uploaded to the Files tab. When you have finished uploading files, select Done.

Upload a ZIP file

Note:

  • HTML files cannot be uploaded in a ZIP file
  • You can choose whether to overwrite existing files or not
  • Unpacked files are flattened – directories inside the ZIP file are ignored
  1. Prepare the .ZIP file. There are several ways to do this – for example:
    • Windows – in Files Explorer, select multiple files > right-click > Send to > Compressed (ZIP) folder
    • macOS – in Finder, select multiple files > Ctrl+select or right-click > Compress n items
  2. Go to the page where you want to upload the ZIP file.
  3. Go to Edit > More, then select the Files tab. You can see a list of all the files, if any, currently uploaded to the page.
  4. Select Upload:

    Files tab

  5. On the Upload a file screen, select Browse/Choose Files and attach the ZIP file from your computer:

Attach a file from your computer

  6. Select Upload.
  7. On the ZIP file handling screen, you're asked how you want to upload the file. To upload the ZIP file without extracting the contents, select Upload as zip.

  8. Alternatively, to extract the contents of the ZIP file to the Files tab in SiteBuilder, select Extract files:

Extract files or upload as a .zip

  9. You can now see each file. Use the checkboxes to choose which files to extract:

    Unpack a .zip file

  10. Optionally, specify a Short title for the files. The short title appears in the contents list page template. You can use this property to help make a list of files such as course notes more readable. For example, a short title of AR101 reading list is simpler than the file name ar101-reading.docx. The Short title defaults to the file name and you can edit it later in file properties.
  11. Select Unpack. You should now see your files listed on the Files tab.
