We are very pleased to announce the shortlist for the inaugural Warwick Awards for Personal Tutoring Excellence (WAPTE).
This new initiative recognises the importance of academic support to our students and seeks to celebrate the work of the University's dedicated network of Senior and Personal Tutors. We received 36 nominations for tutors across a wide range of departments and all Faculties, with many nominations coming directly from students.
Professor Louise Gracia, Dean of Students, commented:
I am delighted with the excellent response we had across the academic community for these new awards. Many nominations came from the student body, evidencing the importance and value that students place on this aspect of academic work. Personal tutoring is key to facilitating students' learning engagement and experience and it is very heartening to see the excellent work that colleagues are undertaking and the innovations they are bringing to their work within the personal tutoring space.
