The University uses the term “sexual misconduct” which covers a broad range of inappropriate and unwanted behaviours of a sexual nature. Information is recorded in line with our Sexual Misconduct Policy and information is available on our websiteLink opens in a new window.

The University has informal mechanisms for reporting and making complaints (including at Stage 1 of its Student Complaints Resolution ProcedureLink opens in a new window and via its Report and Support platformLink opens in a new window). The University treats sexual misconduct seriously and allegations are investigated under the Sexual Misconduct Policy and Stage 2 of the Student Complaints Resolution Procedure, if a complainant decides that they want to make a formal complaint. Therefore, the University is only able to provide formally reported complaints in response to a request.

For Academic Misconduct related matters; Please be advised that we would only be able to provide data in relation to Academic Misconduct cases, which have been referred to the Academic Integrity Committee (AIC) - formally known as the Investigating Committee of the Senate (ICS), as this information is held centrally. Please note that due to data protection obligations, the University is unlikely to provide data on a case-by-case basis as this could result in the identification of individuals and place the University in breach of the UK General Data Protection Regulation.

We may need to seek clarification on your request and the 20 working days timeframe for us to provide a response will not begin until we have received your response to our request for clarification.
