Overview

Research Data Management (RDM) is important for the success of a research project and is becoming increasingly important with major funding bodies, including UKRI, the Wellcome Trust and Horizon 2020. This session will include a brief overview of what a plan needs to contain and some sample DMPs from a selection of Research Councils, and a demonstration of the Digital Curation Centre’s DMP Online service.Planning for research is essential. Planning should include data management.

• I am writing a research proposal. What does a Data Management Plan contain?

• I am starting a research project. How should I manage my research data?

• What do I do with sensitive data?

• Where should I deposit my research data at the end of a project or publication?

This session focuses on the development and use of Data Management Plans (DMPs).
