QS World University Rankings
The University of Warwick has risen six places in the 2027 QS World University Rankings to 68th globally and is placed 10th in the UK.
Employer reputation has also risen, this time by six places, to 54th place globally and Sustainability has risen 34 places to push Warwick into the top 100 globally.

We have committed to improving our ranking further and have set ourselves the target of being in the top 50 by 2030. QS rankings assess universities worldwide and are influential in shaping perceptions of academic institutions as well as students’ decisions on where to study.

What is our QS ranking based on?
QS rankings assess universities worldwide and are influential in shaping perceptions of academic institutions. As competition between leading global institutions continues to grow, reputation plays a critical role in maintaining and improving our position.
Together, Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations per Faculty and Sustainability make up 70 per cent of the total weighting.
- Academic Reputation Survey – capturing the views of academics on the world's leading institutions for research and teaching.
- Employer Reputation Survey – capturing employer perspectives on the universities producing the most capable and impactful graduates.
- Citations – measuring citations per faculty (member of academic staff) to reflect the importance of academic publications.
- Sustainability – reflecting the core strategic role this plays in institutional operations, education, and global research.

Please nominate both your academic colleagues at other institutions, and/or your graduate employer contacts, who will be contacted by the Warwick Rankings team to request their consent to participate in the QS Academic and Employer Reputation Surveys.

To ensure that our excellent research receives the international recognition it deserves, it is vital that your publication information is fully represented on both Scopus and ORCID.
Please claim your Scopus and ORCID profiles if you have not already done so and then make sure that your publication data is kept up to date and accurate.
Scopus is one of the world's largest, curated abstract and citation databases of peer-reviewed literature.
ORCID is a free, unique, persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities.

Why is this important?
The QS reputation indicators are among the most heavily weighted measures within the rankings methodology. Strong participation and high-quality information help ensure that:
- Warwick's research excellence is recognised globally.
- The impact of our teaching, innovation, and partnerships is visible to international audiences.
- The success of our graduates is reflected in employer perceptions.
