Academic Writing: Writing Collaboratively
This session focuses on how to manage collaborative writing projects, including articles, papers and edited collections. The workshop is highly interactive, with writing exercises and reflection built into the materials, in order for participants to try out some of the writing strategies under discussion. The overall aim is to identify and offer strategies for addressing some of the most common writing challenges that can arise during collaborative projects.
Who should attend?
Research Active Staff (Research, Academic or Teaching terms & conditions) who want to explore and develop their understanding of how to manage collaborative writing projects.
We do not accept applications from postgraduates or research students. Students should refer to the Student Career and Skills website for details of workshops designed specifically to meet their needs.
Workshop Objectives:
- To discuss and identify the principles of good collaborative writing practice.
- To explore some of the different approaches to collaborative writing.
- To enable participants to understand their own strengths and challenges when writing collaboratively.
- To use writing exercises to model best practice in collaborative projects.
- To help participants create an action plan for any imminent collaborative projects.
