Pay Negotiations

Pay negotiations consultative ballot - please vote

We have been in negotiation with the University to address pay compression in grades 1-5. We are now asking members to vote to accept or reject the University’s pay offerLink opens in a new window. The outcome of the vote will determine whether we accept the offer, or return to the negotiating table to seek an improved deal.

We recognise the serious financial pressures facing higher education and the need for Warwick to remain financially sustainable. However, the University’s own financial update confirms that Warwick is in a strong financial position, and that "only a small number of universities are in a position as strong as Warwick’s.

Whilst the offer includes a pay increase for some staff, our assessment is that it does not meaningfully address pay compression and falls short of a fair deal for the work staff do.

The structure of the pay scale affects how work is valued across the University and our ability to secure better pay and conditions in future.

Voting ACCEPT means that you consider the offer sufficient and authorise your union to agree it.

Voting REJECT means that you do not consider the offer sufficient in its current form and want the unions to seek further improvements.

The ballot closes at 23:59pm on Wednesday August 19th.
