Our approach to Upskilling

A new approach to learning

We're reshaping how colleagues access guidance, training and support. Our approach moves away from static documents and one-off training sessions, towards a more flexible, accessible and continuously evolving model.

This reflects the wider shift enabled by SuccessFactors — simplifying processes, enabling self-service, and freeing up capacity across the People Team to focus on higher-value guidance and support.

Accessible guidance, when and how you need it

We are moving away from static guidance towards support that is available at the point of need.

Using tools such as Scribe, colleagues can access step-by-step, visual walkthroughs embedded directly within guidance pages.

This enables users to complete tasks in real time, reducing reliance on lengthy manuals and making processes easier to follow.

Structured and role-based

Alongside in-system support, we are delivering targeted training aligned to different roles.

This includes a blend of online sessions, workshops and self-guided materials, focused on the actions colleagues will carry out.

Training is practical and task-based, ensuring users build confidence before and after go-live.

Continuous improvement and support

Our approach to upskilling is ongoing. Guidance and resources will be regularly updated based on feedback and user behaviour, creating a dynamic knowledge base that evolves over time. This ensures consistent, high-quality practice across the University while enabling the People Team to focus on advice, insight and continuous improvement.
