5) Sort out your Council Tax exemption

Full-time students don't have to pay Council Tax but you need to provide the Council with evidence you are a student in order to get your exemption. You can get a Student Status Letter from your Student Record Online to prove your student status and you will then need to send this to Coventry City CouncilLink opens in a new window or Warwick District Council (depending on where you live).

6) Get your bank account ready

Consider opening a second bank account to separate funds for daily expenses, rent, and savings. This simple step can make budgeting easier and help you keep track of your spending.
