Microwave Masery - Udon and Onsen Egg

A quick and easy lunch - all you need is a microwave!

Ingredients

  • One egg
  • Udon noodles
  • Soy sauce
  • Spring onions

Method

  1. Put the noodles into the large bowl (break them up if needed) and fill the bowl with enough water to cover the noodles.
  2. Put the microwave at the 600w setting, then microwave the noodles for 2 minutes.
  3. Take out, drain the water and set aside for now.
  4. Crack an egg into the small bowl, then add enough water to just cover the egg.
  5. Use chopsticks/ a fork to poke holes in the yolk (very important!).
  6. Put the microwave at the 600w setting, then microwave the egg for a minute, taking it out at 20-second intervals (also very important!).
  7. Take out and drain the water.
  8. Put the egg on top of the Udon noodles.
  9. Drizzle soy sauce over the top, garnish with spring onions if needed, and serve!
