Add a multi-source feed
The multi-source feed component enables you to display content from up to 10 sources of different types in the same place on your page. For example, you can have a single component combining both a news feed and a calendar feed.
The multi feed component can display content from the following:
- Data list pages
- RSS & Atom feeds
-
Browse to the page where you want to add a Multi feed component.
-
Go to Edit > Edit centre content:
-
In the Components Editor, place your cursor where you want to add the feed.
-
Select Feeds > Multi-source feed:
Alternatively, select an existing multi-source feed component, then select Settings in the component toolbar:
-
The Multi feed options pop-up appears:
-
Enter the location of the page(s) you want to source content from in the Feed URLs box. Alternatively, select the Find button to locate source pages within your site.
Tip: The Multi feed accepts both relative and absolute URLs.
-
Under the Filter options:
-
Enter the Maximum items to show. This is the number of items that will be displayed after source feeds have been combined, sorted and filtered.
-
If you want to only display news or calendar items with certain tags:
-
Select the Filter by tag checkbox.
-
Enter tag names separated by commas to only show items with these tags.
-
Use the radio buttons to show Items with any of these tags or only Items with all these tags.
-
-
To display only items that fall within a specific date range:
-
Select the Filter by date checkbox.
-
Use the Date filter type drop-down list to select which date range to show. If you select Before a specific date, After a specific date or Between specific dates, use the pickers to choose the relevant date.
Tip: Calendar events and data entries can sometimes have more than one thing that could be considered a "date" - for example, a calendar event has both a date it's scheduled to start and a date on which it was added to the calendar. You can specify which of these to use in the feed's Date options, which are detailed below.
-
-
-
In the Sorting options:
Use the Sort by drop-down list to select how items are ordered in the feed. You can sort by date or alphabetically by title.
Note: Undated items are displayed in the feed by default. If you'd only like to show dated items, deselect the Include undated items in result checkbox.
-
Under Display options:
-
Select whether you want the feed to Display as a List, Tiles, or Tiles - scrollable.
-
Optionally, enter a Feed title. This will display above the feed on your page.
-
Use the checkboxes to enable the following options:
-
Headlines are clickable links: If enabled, selecting a headline takes a user to the source item.
-
Show publication dates: The date an item was published appears alongside it
-
Show thumbnail images: If selected, the feed displays thumbnail images attached to source items.
-
Show item abstracts (if available)
-
Show social media sharing buttons: Displays a button next to each item to share on social media. Note that these only appear if the source page has view permissions for Any user.
-
-
-
Under Date options:
Note: Calendar events and data entries have multiple attributes that could be considered a date.
Use the drop-down lists to specify which Date to use for events, and which Date to use for data list items.
-
Select Add Multi feed (or Update Multi feed if editing an existing component).
-
When you're finished editing your page, select Publish.
