Nook Book Club

Thursdays Weeks 4 & 9 every term, 1-3pm, The Nook.

Nook Book Club runs twice a term and is open to all students.

Whether you read the whole book, only manage a few chapters or simply want to chat with other book lovers, you’re very welcome to join us. Just read or listen to as much of the book as you can.

The discussion is student-led and relaxed, with questions ranging from what you thought of the book to which actors you’d cast in a film adaptation.

You can find the theme of the next book club, vote for the recommended books, and find out the winning choice by booking onto the session or following us on Instagram!

How it works...

A theme will be chosen by us and shared on MyAdvantage

You can then submit your recommendations to us via Instagram

You can then vote on the top four recommendations

The winning book will be announced on MyAdvantage and Instagram

You can then go and get a copy of the book and read it

We'll then discuss the book during the session - there's no need to make notes or prepare anything in advance.

If you want to, you can then review the book too

Where to get your copy...

There are a lot of different ways to get your hands on a copy of the book. Below are just some options but you can decide what works best for you!

• Find a copy in the University's Library (Physical, e-books, e-audiobooks)
• Find a copy in a local Library (Physical, e-books, e-audiobooks)
• Purchase a copy from Amazon (Physical, e-books) or Audible (e-audiobooks)
• Purchase a copy from World of Books (Physical)
• Purchase a copy from Waterstones (Physical)
• Borrow a copy from the Nook* (Physical)

*This is for those students who are unable to get a copy from anywhere else as we only have a limited selection of books available.
