As part of your application for a Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Warwick, your employer will have shared your contact details with us to initiate the onboarding process.
There are several essential steps you must complete during onboarding. Please note that your application cannot progress until all required actions have been fulfilled.
This section outlines the onboarding process and provides guidance to support you as an applicant.
Creation of Aptem Account
Aptem is a tool that the University of Warwick utilise to manage degree apprenticeships, and you will become very familiar with it, during the lifecycle of your apprenticeship. Initially, UoW will create an Aptem account, you will be sent an email to activate your Aptem account, and it will notify you have an action, to complete their application form, which is inbuilt into Aptem.
Applicant Completion of Application Process
You are required to complete all sections of the application form as fully as possible; this information is used to determine whether you are eligible to do an apprenticeship in England. If you do not complete the application form your application cannot proceed, so please complete as soon as possible.
Checking of Applications
UoW staff will complete all the checks required and where necessary seek additional information from you, the University will be checking, eligibility, employment status, qualifications and whether the applicant meets the entry requirements for the degree. If you are awaiting A 'Level results, you will need to update your application form when you have your results, (asap on or after 14/08/25) and any offer the University makes to you will be conditional based on you achieving your required grades.
Next steps for Applicant and Employer
Once checks are completed, you will be invited to a Skills Scan or Professional Discussion with an academic colleague (these usually take place in August via Teams) and a formal offer will be made to the applicant.
Documentation to Sign Next steps for Applicant and Employer
When it has been confirmed that you can enrol onto the Degree Apprenticeship Programme, the University of Warwick, will move you from an applicant to become an apprentice, you will be required to check all your personal information and then review and sign key documentation ie Apprenticeship Agreement (to be signed by Employer and Learner) and Training Plan (to be signed by Employer, Learner and UoW). It is important that all your documentation is signed before your first day of learning, so please sign them as soon as you can.
