Activities and Projects for Student Green Champions
There are plenty of activities and projects you can get involved in as a Green Champion. Please note that you need to be part of the Student Green Champion Community to apply for the activities listed below. You can only apply for 1 short-term project each term, please see details of the available projects below.

This project invites students to co-create an interactive “Energy Trail” across campus that highlights the University’s energy-saving projects and sustainable initiatives.
The aim is not to design a perfect finished trail, but to experiment with the most engaging and creative ways of telling the story of energy efficiency and climate action. The Energy Trail will encourage students, staff and visitors to understand the University’s commitment to sustainability and spark conversations about energy saving in everyday life.
Time commitment: Approximately 3- 4 hours per week; 15 hours maximum
The Warwick Sustainability Social Media Lead role exists to give prospective and current students an insight into aspects of sustainability at Warwick from a students’ point of view.
Time commitment: Approximately 15 hours in total
Experience required:
A good understanding of social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and other platforms commonly used by students.
An understanding of sustainability principles and practices.
The Energy and Sustainability Team are looking for students and staff to support various sustainability initiatives from biodiversity to circular economy. The opportunities vary depending on your interest, but no previous experience is required, just an enthusiasm to learn and take part. The level of time commitment will be dependent on the projects and will be discussed with each applicant.

On completion of the Expression of Interest form you will be contacted by the relevant member of the Energy and Sustainability Team who will be able to provide more information on how to get involved.
Please note, for biodiversity initiatives, if sufficient people get involved, individuals working on the same project may be put into groups. Basic training will be organised at a relevant point in the year dependent on the objectives of the projects.
Community Lead
Become a Student Green Champion Community Lead and make an impact to your society, accommodation building, department, faculty etc.
We encourage you to identify the potential positive impact you can create and also the negative impact that you can mitigate.

Student Green Champions Q&A
Once you have completed the application, we will contact you if your application is successful.
For short term projects, you will be assigned to work with other Green Champions on the projects listed above. If you would like to apply to work in the Biodiversity Action Team, training will be provided and you will be able to contribute on an ad hoc basis depending on your availability.
You will receive Warwick Award points once the projects are completed or once your term as a Biodiversity Action Team member or Sustainability Community Lead has ended.
