Kitchen Kit Market

What is the Kitchen Kit Market?

The Kitchen Kit Market is Warwick’s vibrant preloved kitchenware sale, held every Welcome Week to help students start the year sustainably and affordably.

Stock is limited each day, so it’s first come, first served — once items run out, the market closes for the day and reopens the next with fresh stock. Even better, everything is available on a pay-as-you-feel basis, making it accessible for everyone.

Swing by, grab your kitchen essentials, and help reduce waste — all while supporting a greener Warwick!

Where are the items sourced from?

The Energy and Sustainability Team runs the Donation Drive initiative twice a year. The Donation Drive helps reduce the environmental impact of student move-out by making it easier for students to donate unwanted items before they leave campus. These items are then sorted, weighed, and cleaned by our amazing staff members and volunteers, before being resold at the Kitchen Kit Market.

In 2024, the Kitchen Kit Market received an overwhelmingly positive response from students:

"I was amazed at the stock available, and very appreciative. I arrived at a shareholder with a minimally furnished kitchen, so to be able to kit it out at minimal cost was phenomenal."

"It's a great opportunity to find some kitchen stuff. It makes it way easier and cheaper than to go to a supermarket. Thank you."

"Really nice people and really useful for students."

"It's great to support the charity and contribute to sustainability!"

In 2025, 1,254 people attended the Market, and attendees left plenty of positive feedback about the quality, affordability, and sustainability of the experience:

"Incredible initiative! Pretty much got everything we need ....! Sustainable and economical :)...thank you!"

"It’s a really great initiative!!! I think it’s so worth doing as it prevents so much waste. It’s a great resource for new and old international students as they get to have cheaper equipment when they start university but also get to give it away once they finish their studies."
