Congratulations to Warwick University Nursery, for achieving the Green Flag Award!

Eco-schoolsLink opens in a new window is a charity passionate about engaging young people in environmental education and action. The Green Flags AwardLink opens in a new window celebrates and rewards important ecological efforts by staff, children and parents, to greenify their school/nursery and educate children as to how they can live in an eco-friendly way,

Staff, children and parents have been working hard at Warwick University NurseryLink opens in a new window, to make the nursery more eco-friendly and sustainable, creating an eco-committee consisting of six adults, and twelve children aged from 2 to 4 years. Recycling, reducing, and reusing have been embedded into the curriculum this year and has become part of nursery life. Children have also been influencing parents and family at home to recycle more, switch off lights and plant more seeds and plants in their gardens.

The nursery also created an Eco Code which represented the work and the ethos that has been embraced during this past year, which children and staff wrote together, and have performed as a song:

The nursery will continue to work hard to educate children about the importance of sustainability, and find new ways to reduce the Nursery's environmental impact!
