Governance and Sustainability at Warwick
We are dedicated to integrating sustainability into all levels of governance, ensuring our University's commitments are embedded in our institutional decision-making and operations.
At Warwick, we implement comprehensive governance frameworks for sustainability - from strategic planning to transparent reporting - through clear policies, collaborative oversight, and systematic assessment of our progress.
Our Sustainability Strategy provides the overarching vision and roadmap for our institution-wide approach, complemented by specific Policies that codify our commitments across areas from carbon management to sustainable procurement.
The Sustainability Committee was formed, on behalf of the University Executive Board and the University Estate and Environment Committee, for coordinating the University’s approach to Environmental and Social Sustainability. Sustainability Committee works with and advises other relevant committees and groups in the context of their remit which impacts Environmental and Social Sustainability.
Reporting and Compliance mechanisms ensure we meet both regulatory requirements and our own ambitious targets, with regular public disclosures of our environmental impact and sustainability performance.
Together, these governance structures reflect our commitment to aligning with sector-leading practices and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals - ensuring accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in our sustainability journey.
