Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is an independent national survey of the experiences of Masters students in UK universities. We consistently score very well in these, and were in 2015 awarded a special letter of commendation by our vice-chancellor for sustained performance in this regard. We work hard to improve on our scores each year, taking on board student feedback and developing our courses in response. Our latest Overall Satisfaction score for our outstanding Masters Education was 90% for 2019 based on our largest sample size since starting the survey. Our performance for 2019 is presented below in terms of average performance scores across our four programmes. These are benchmarked against the average for Warwick:

The survey gives students a chance to comment on their experience of studying at postgraduate level with us. Students in recent years have regularly made comments in these surveys such as the following:
"I enjoyed the fact we usually work in small groups and the fact the teachers are always willing to take the time to talk to us and meet with us. The department is very international, which is also interesting. We had several social events to meet our course mates and the general atmosphere of the department is very friendly and welcoming."
"There is a number of students who have different cultural backgrounds. It was one of the greatest things I could get in Warwick. Furthermore, in the cultural and media policy centre, all the academic staff were very supportive and helpful."
"Cultural & Media Policy centre has the most amazing academic staff in University."
“Very good teaching quality, impressed by very good support from all professors, very good reading list.”
“Professors are available for discussion. They give a feeling of being approachable and seem interested in your research topics.”
“This course has enabled me to gain the confidence to change career, partly through my academic development, but also on a personal level through gaining confidence in my abilities.”
“The staff have been excellent, teaching has been stimulating and challenging.”
“I got to know more about myself, as an individual and a professional… I particularly liked the international atmosphere in my course. Meeting and working with people from different cultural backgrounds are awesome.”
“What I like most of all in my course is that it combines theory and practice and gives opportunities to test my abilities and realise my strengths and weaknesses. I started feeling confident in my future career path.”
“Excellent bibliographies, inspiring lectures, good variety in option modules. I am very happy that I decided to do my Masters here.”
