Community & Public Engagement

Supporting the cultural growth of our region is a key part of our ambition to make our region a better place for those who study, live and work here. These cultural collaborations are helping us to build new partnerships and strengthen our regional and community engagement.

Resonate Roadshow

Resonate Roadshow

Warwick Institute of Engagement created the Resonate Roadshow taking our 60th Anniversary celebrations to community locations, popping up in community centres, town halls, shopping centres and parks across Coventry and Warwickshire. Events were designed to spark conversation, inspire curiosity and bring the work of the University to wider audiences. The programme toured the region which included the Innovation Campus in Wellesbourne, Canley Big Lunch, Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry’s Godiva Festival in the Memorial Park and Nuneaton town centre.

Bonkers B

Reading and literacy with local schools

The Bonkers Book Bash at West Coventry Academy was delivered in partnership with local schools and the Tile Hill Community Partnership, building on the success of the Community Festival of Reading (2024). Young readers from Years 5–7 across local schools took part in weekly reading sessions led by our enthusiastic student volunteers. The project culminated in the Bonkers Book Bash where pupils enjoyed creative workshops with our volunteers and local author-illustrator duo The Brothers McLeod. Their adventure book ‘Knight Sir Louis’ inspired pupils’ imagination, helped to foster a love of reading, and built confidence in thinking and sharing their ideas about books.

Hidden by Motionhouse

Motionhouse ‘Hidden’

Motionhouse, a locally-based professional dance company, premiered Hidden at Warwick Arts Centre. Blending dance and circus, the production sold out with nearly 2,000 tickets and has since embarked on a three-year UK and international tour. Warwick Arts Centre was a co-commissioner, underscoring its role in bringing world-class work to the stage and supporting its journey to wider audiences.
