Keir Starmer today visited WMG at the University of Warwick to meet researchers, technicians, and students at one of the world’s leading centres for industrial innovation and skills. He was joined by Labour’s mayors and mayoral candidates, including Richard Parker (West Midlands), Andy Burnham (Greater Manchester) and Claire Ward (East Midlands).

On graduation day (Monday 15th Jan) Alex spent the morning running a session with 30 children from a local Coventry school. To kick things off, the children took part in a treasure hunt, and after following the clues around the University’s award-winning FAB building, they discovered the comedian hidden away in a top-floor room.

The University of Warwick’s Ancient Drama Festival is set to return for its tenth year, featuring Aeschylus' The Persians. Funded by the British Academy, the festival will take place on the 25th and 26th January 2024 at the Warwick Arts Centre. A free to attend, matinee performance has also been organised for local school children.

The Mead Gallery will house three concurrent exhibitions, all with a shared theme of amplifying marginalised voices. Artists, Francis Offman, and Nicole Bachmann will present their first solo exhibitions in a UK gallery.

The University’s leading crop research centre at based at the Innovation Campus, Stratford-upon-Avon is a leading, 200-hectare agricultural research site. Scientists at the University will collaborate directly with industry partners and the Government to drive implementation of new technology in the farming sector.

Following the discovery of problems related to the construction of their main buildings many students at Aylesford School in Warwick have spent time being taught remotely rather than on-site during the Autumn. In particular, the closure of two thirds of their classrooms has led to some subjects losing access to the specialist teaching resources that are essential to the delivery of their curriculum.

The Experience Warwick Partnership offers a variety of in-school and on-campus activities for local state schools in Coventry and Warwickshire aiming to inspire and inform local young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to progress to Higher Education.
