Research
We believe the University of Warwick has a leading role to play in crafting a society that is knowledgeable, connected, and purposeful. Innovation-led research with real-world impact is key to achieving that goal.
Investment in our STEM Connect Programme, including the creation of the £425m Science and Engineering Precinct, will enable us to reimagine and reinvigorate our priority areas of research, build on disciplinary excellence, and enhance our interdisciplinary approach.
It will act as a galvanising force to take our research to the next level, and enable the critical mass needed to secure major grants. And it will help us attract and bring together world-leading academics and outstanding early career researchers.
Research themes
By focusing on overarching research themes, and investing in our people and facilities, we will establish Warwick as a global powerhouse in collaborative scientific enquiry. Our research themes focus on the questions and challenges that matter now and those that will be vitally important in the coming years. They encompass a broad spectrum of research, ranging from fundamental research through to fully mature technology and real-world solutions. The themes include both disciplinary excellence and interdisciplinary activities from across all our faculties.
Thematic research will be delivered through: projects by individual academics and research students; research groups within departments; cross-disciplinary Research Centres and Centres for Doctoral Training; The University's new Research Spotlights.
