When you complete 5 hours or more of volunteering activities with Warwick Volunteers over the academic year, you will receive a Warwick Volunteers certificate.

Only hours accrued in the current academic year are included. This includes time spent travelling to your activity, planning lessons/activities, creating resources, attending training courses and volunteer meetings for the project you have volunteered on. The volunteering activity should make up a minimum 75% of the total hours.

To receive a certificate you will need to:

1. Register with an opportunity listed on our website

2. When accepted as a volunteer you will see the opportunity listed in the Log Hours section where you can add the hours that you volunteer, check first with your project leader or the office whether they will do this on your behalf.

3. We will check the hours you submit with the Project Leader or the key contact for your volunteering activity.

4. Once you achieve 5 or more hours you will be able to download your certificate from the website. As a bonus, if you log 10 hours you can also collect a reusable coffee cup, after 15 hours you will be eligible for a 7 day pass to the Sports and Wellness Hub (notification of this will be sent to you before the end of each undergraduate term) and for logging 30 or more hours, you can also collect a free WV water bottle by popping into the office (all subject to availability).

Logging hours for an activity that is not advertised on the Volunteering Portal

To log volunteering hours not connected to a role advertised on the Portal, please click on the Add Community Project button. Self-logged volunteering hours must be a verifiable Warwick Volunteers opportunityLink opens in a new window, meaning they must have been advertised in the WV newsletter, on the WV website, or directly communicated to you by a WV staff member.

Warwick Award

Did you know that by getting involved in Warwick Volunteers, you can earn Core Skills Points for the Warwick Award? These points help you track your progress towards the Award which recognises and showcases the employability skills you’re building from everything you do here at Warwick.

If you’d like to claim your Core Skills Points and begin your journey towards the Warwick Award, here’s what you need to do:

Warwick Volunteers activities will be logged on your Warwick Award profile after the end of each term. You’ll then be prompted to complete a short reflection piece.
