Centre for Arts Doctoral Research Excellence

WELCOME TO CADRE.

Where every question sparks a journey of exploration.

About CADRE and M4C

CADRE is the Centre for Arts Doctoral Research Excellence. We support and representing the Faculty’s postgraduate researchers and their departments.

We speak for Arts doctoral researchers at Faculty and University committees and work closely with the Doctoral College, as well as representing Warwick in the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership and to other external bodies.

There is a dedicated M4C team to help and support you during your time at Warwick.

M4C at Warwick

As an M4C-funded student at Warwick, you are part of a vibrant, international and intellectually curious cohort of M4C postgraduate researchers across the Faculty of Arts and beyond.

Current M4C students can find out information on upcoming events, RDFs, EFs, placements and more here.

If you are starting at Warwick with an M4C Scholarship in October 2025, visit our new starters page!

Doctoral College and Researcher Development

The Doctoral College aims to support you throughout your whole PhD from scholarships and researcher development to networking events and guidance on supervision and thesis submission.

The Researcher Development programme is provided by the Doctoral College to help you get the best out of your time at Warwick and the best out of yourself.

Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships

The Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships (CDP) scheme gives non-HEI (non-higher education institution) partner organisations with a proven track record in postgraduate research the opportunity to apply for a cohort of a minimum of three doctoral studentships per year over a three-year period.

Examples of current award holders include The British Library, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Archives and the Tate.
