MA Bursaries and PhD Applications

Midlands4Cities (M4C) Masters Bursary

As part of our commitment to supporting routes in to the PhD, CADRE are excited to announce a new M4C Masters Bursary.

These are for students who will study a Masters course at Warwick, and who intend to subsequently apply for an M4C-funded PhD at the University.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, up to 5 bursaries will be available, worth £10,000 per student (home or international).

To apply, please fill in this form and send it, along with a one-page CV, to m4c@warwick.ac.uk by Monday 26 June 2023.

Eligibility

  • offer holder for a Masters course in the Arts Faculty or an Arts-adjacent discipline*, due to start in October 2023
  • home or international student
  • full-time or part-time student

*Arts Faculty includes: Centre for the Study of the Renaissance; Classics and Ancient History; English and Comparative Literary Studies; History; School for Cross-Faculty Studies; School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures; School of Modern Languages and Cultures. For the purpose of this bursary, it also covers the following "Arts-adjacent" disciplines: Applied Linguistics; Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies; Politics and International Studies, Philosophy, Sociology.

Midlands4Cities (M4C) PhD scholarships

M4C is a multi-partner doctoral training programme, covering all Arts and Humanities disciplines.

Guidance on M4C applications and finding a supervisor can be found on the M4C website.

Applications for 2024-2025 entry open on 16th October 2023, with a deadline of 10th January 2024 (midday, UK time).

An applications workshop for applicants to Warwick or Coventry Universities for 2024-2025 entry was held on 18th November 2023. A recording of the presentation and associated documents can be found here.

M4C applicants must apply for both an M4C scholarship and a place to study at Warwick (unless you are already a PhD student here). Please use this link to apply for a place to study.

CADRE Scholarships

In the past, CADRE has offered PGR scholarships. These may be offered on occasion in the future.

Chancellor's International Scholarships (CIS)

Available to international scholars and administered directly by Warwick.

Guidance on CIS scholarships can be found on the Doctoral College website.

China Scholarships Council (CSC)

Available to applicants holding a People's Republic of China passport.

Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities

No intake 2023-2024.
