Terms and Conditions
We are delighted that you have chosen to accept the offer of a M4C MA Scholarship Award at the University of Warwick.
The Terms and Conditions of your award are listed below, we would ask that you read these carefully and complete the declaration at the bottom of this page in order to accept your offer of a scholarship. We would recommend printing this page for your own records.
1. University Regulations, Provision of Award and Enrolment
1.1
Recipients of the M4C MA Scholarship Award must abide at all times with the University rules and regulations, as set out in the University Calendar, available online here: www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/gov/calendar.
1.2
The M4C MA Scholarship Award is normally awarded for up to one year of full-time taught Master's level postgraduate study, or up to two years of part-time study.
1.3
The scholarship is valued at up to £10,000 and will be paid as a contribution towards your tuition fees only, awards will be pro-rata for part-time. Offer letters will confirm the sum of the scholarship.
1.4
The offer of the award is conditional on you meeting the terms and conditions of your postgraduate study offer and is made on the understanding that applicants will be enrolled with the University from 2 October 2023 or from an alternative enrolment date specified in writing by CADRE.
2. Additional or Alternative Sources of External Funding
2.1
The total amount of M4C MA Scholarship funding awarded to a student will not exceed £10,000, and will be paid as a contribution towards academic fees only. Your scholarship offer letter will confirm the total amount of funding awarded to you.
2.2
It is a condition of accepting this award that if the M4C MA Scholarship Award-holder is successful in obtaining an offer of funding for academic fees from an alternative source to an amount commensurate with normal M4C MA Scholarship Award funding, they must inform CADRE without delay in writing of all the material facts. In such circumstances the University would normally expect the award-holder to accept the alternative award. The University retains the right to withdraw all or part of the M4C MA Scholarship Award if the student obtains substantial alternative funding for academic fees. In such circumstances the University would reduce the M4C MA Scholarship Award by such an amount that the total sum of combined funding does not exceed the total sum of academic fees. The University retains the right to verify a recipient’s financial status.
2.3
It is a requirement of the M4C MA Scholarship Awards that the student must notify the CADRE if they are in receipt of any other scholarship, studentship, fee waiver, or alternative source of funding for study at Warwick. Any student in receipt of a University scholarship remains responsible for immediately notifying CADRE of any changes to their funding arrangements throughout their period of study. Failure to disclose such information will be considered as a major offence as defined in the disciplinary regulations laid out in University Regulation 23.
3. Changes to Modes of Attendance
3.1
Requests for temporary withdrawal will only be considered on the grounds set out in University Regulation 36. Requests for temporary withdrawal should be made in accordance with normal procedure and the payment of the award is normally suspended during the award-holder’s period of temporary withdrawal.
3.2
Should an award-holder wish to withdraw permanently, they must notify their department immediately in writing. Any fee awards payable under the M4C MA Scholarship Award will be terminated at the date of withdrawal. Any payments made to an award-holder to cover a period of study after the date of permanent withdrawal will need to be repaid.
4. Student Obligations
4.1
The award is subject to the acceptance of the terms of this agreement and to the award-holder consenting to their name and submission being used by the University in a recruitment context, be it in the University prospectus, as online content or other.
4.2
The award-holder may be expected to participate periodically in a range of postgraduate recruitment activities, which could include: postgraduate open days; induction events; widening participation events; receptions held with potential sponsors or alumni, etc.
