Mid Year Reviews
Guide for PGRs
- The mid-year review takes place in January-March. All M4C funded students must complete the online Mid-Year Review form by 3rd February 2025.

You can use the mid-year review to consider your professional development and discuss any training needs with your supervisory team.

- There are different review processes for full-time and part-time research students. Please ensure you read the requirements set out by M4C on VPP.
- If you have taken a leave of absence since your previous MYR, M4C still require you to follow the normal guidance and timeframe for MYR on your return to study. A light touch mid-year review will enable you to revisit your last research statement and establish where you are picking up your research again.

Guide for Supervisors and Assessors
All students must meet with their supervisors for a review meeting and the supervisory team need to complete the Supervisor Section in the online Mid-Year Report form. Please note that the supervisor form will be automatically created on completion of the student section of the form.
Assessors must complete the M4C Assessor Form (offline) and return it electronically to their M4C Administrator who will upload this to the VPP.
Assessment Review Interviews:
- All full-time students in year 1 and part-time students in year 2 have an assessment review interview with two assessors from outside of the supervisory team.
- All students in Year 2 and 3 have an assessment review interview with one assessor outside of the supervisory team
- The student review materials and supervisor report form the basis of the interview. The assessors will read all the materials submitted and interview the student to assess and document progress.
- The structure and conduct of the meeting with the assessors should follow the pattern of the home university and students must be offered the opportunity to talk to the assessors alone if they wish to do so.

Nominating Assessors
To confirm the details of the assessors for PGR Mid-Year Reviews, the below form should be completed as soon as possible. This should be completed by the Director of Graduate Studies or Supervisor (depending on what the internal arrangements are in your department/school).
Number of Reviewers needed:
- All full-time students in year 1 and part-time students in year 2 have an assessment review interview with two assessors from outside of the supervisory team.

All students in Year 2 and 3 have an assessment review interview with one assessor outside of the supervisory team (although two assessors are recommended if the student has been asked to provide a further writing sample or practice-led equivalent by their supervisors).
Once these details are complete, M4C Warwick will use this to ensure all assessors receive the PGR's submissions that they are assessing.

- PGRs upload report to VPP
- Supervisors review and upload to VPP
- PGRs attend interview with assessor(s)
- Assessor(s) complete M4C Assessor Form and send to M4C administrators
- M4C administrators upload Assessor(s) Form to VPP
