Tokens were distributed for Theorika, meaning the place from which you watch and the spectacle you sit or stand to watch. Initially Theorika would have been money distributed out of the Theoric Fund for the Dionysia and the Panathenaea, the two major Athenian festivals. Today, tokens with iconography related to festivals can be plausibly assigned to Theorika.
