Facilities and resources

IT facilities

Extensive IT facilities are available to students - computer clusters in rooms H447 and H454, which are shared facilities for all Arts PG students. There are also designated desks and workstations for postgraduate students in Millburn House. There are also many PCs in the library.

All students are given Warwick email addresses, which will be used by the Department for all communications. If you have another private email address please make sure that mail sent to your University email address is automatically transferred to your private one. We strongly encourage you to use your Univerisity email address to correspond with tutors as emails sent from private addresses can sometimes end up in a recipient's spam folder.

A wide range of bibliographical and textual databases are available via the library, including BIDS, the MLA Bibliography, Dissertation Abstracts International, the Chadwyck Healey databases of English Poetry and English Verse drama, ECCO and EEBO. All students will receive training in the use of databases as part of the Introduction to Research Methods.

IT Services offer a number of learning resources, including workshops/training sessions.

If students have problems using the facilities or systems provided by IT Services, they can go to the Helpdesk located on the ground floor of the Library building, telephone 024 765 73737 or email helpdesk@warwick.ac.uk. Regulation 31 has information on acceptable use of University IT facilities for students and staff.

Common Room

You are encouraged to use the postgraduate space for the Arts Faculty on the fourth floor of the Humanities Building extension.

Notice board

There is a notice board for postgraduate students in English in the corridor just outside room H504. You are advised to check this regularly.

Mail
Postgraduate students will be advised by email that post has been delivered to the department for them. Students should not use the department address for personal post and packages.

PG Hub

The PG Hub is a space for Warwick postgraduate taught and research students to access support and to work and share experiences together in the broadest context of postgraduate life, not just study.

Learning Grid

The Learning Grid aims to provide students at the University with a facility that actively supports the development of study, transferable and professional skills.
