Course Structure
Autumn term:
- Research Methods - we will automatically allocate you to this so you do not need to apply
- 2 x 30 CAT modules, each assessed by coursework - 6,000 word essay
Spring term:
- 2 x 30 CAT modules, assessed by coursework - each assessed by coursework - 6,000 word essay
Spring/Summer terms:
- 60 CATS - 16,000 word dissertation – EN956 - we will automatically allocate you to this, so you do not need to apply
Core Module - Any Critical Theory module
From 2019-2020 choose a module from the following list:
Term 1 modules:
- Gothic
- Fundamentals of World Literature
- Drama and Performance Theory
- World Literature and the Anthropocene
- Critical Theory Today
Term 2 modules:
- Postcolonial Theory
- Petrofiction: Studies in World Literature
- Critical Theory, Culture, Resistance
Can take one 30 CATS module from outside of the department, including the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL).
