Reading lunch: Re-inventing Hygiene Modernity
As the co-conveners for this year's CHM reading lunches, we are pleased to invite you to the first reading lunch session. It will not just give us an opportunity to discuss various arguments made in the field of History of Medicine but also allow us to engage with issues and themes intersecting other knowledge domains. It's a platform to share our views on these as well, in the context of the readings provided.
The readings :
Ayurveda Made Modern- Rachel Berger-Hisroricizing Ayurveda,Geneaologies of the Biomoral
Ruth Rogaski, Hygiene Modernity- Meanings of Health and Disease in Treaty-Port China (Introduction)
All members of the Centre, whatever their roles and/or current areas of research, are welcome to attend for discussion and a light lunch!
With best wishes,
