Liz Thiebe RN MBA directs the service-delivery redesign for one of the United Kingdom’s largest National Health Service Trusts. She is the former health-system director of surgery and anaesthesia at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, Massachusetts, and previously had management responsibilities across the entire Baystate Health System for strategic planning, programme development, and operations of the surgery and anaesthesia product line. She planned the care-delivery systems and operationalized Baystate’s new care models in its ambulatory surgical centre. A frequent lecturer, she also acts as a planning consultant for surgery, anaesthesia, endoscopy, and capital-planning programmes in the US and UK.
