CHMST Research Showcase
CHMST Research Showcase
On 4 February 2026, the Centre for the History of Medicine, Science and Technology held a vibrant Research Showcase bringing together doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and academic staff from across the Centre. This event formed part of our ongoing effort to strengthen collaboration and mutual understanding following the Centre’s recent merger of our sub‑disciplines.
The showcase provided a friendly and supportive space for colleagues at all career stages to hear more about each other’s work. Each attendee was invited to offer a short five‑minute talk introducing their current research project. These concise presentations enabled a lively exchange of ideas and revealed the breadth and depth of scholarship taking place across CHMST.
The evening highlighted research spanning medical history, histories of science and technology, global and imperial histories, and a wide range of topics ranging from the history of endometriosis to industrial imperialism.
It also offered a great opportunity for new members of the Centre including doctoral researchers and recently arrived postdocs to share their work and make valuable connections.
As always, the event was accompanied by refreshments and informal discussion, helping to foster the sense of community that continues to grow across our newly merged Centre.
We thank everyone who participated and contributed to a stimulating and collegial evening.
